Riverhills Suburb Profile

Riverhills sits on the western edge of Brisbane's south-west, one of the Centenary Suburbs, a pocket known for its greenery, established neighbourhoods and river setting. Traditionally, this area forms part of the lands of the Jagera (Yuggera) people, whose country spans across Brisbane's south-west, Ipswich and the Lockyer Valley. About 20 km by road from the city, Riverhills offers a quieter pace while keeping the CBD within easy reach. It's a neighbourhood of hilly, leafy streets and established family homes, bounded by the Brisbane River to the west and Wolston Creek to the south, with bushland gullies running down to the water. The suburb attracts a mix of families, professionals and long-term locals who enjoy its natural surrounds. Riverhills Plaza on Bogong Street covers everyday shopping, and Newcomb Park on Sumners Road has a launching area for non-motorised craft and is home to the Centenary Rowing Club. There are no schools in the suburb itself, with Middle Park State School and Centenary State High School close by. Translink buses 450, 454 and 455 run to the city, and route 452 links Riverhills with Darra train station on the Ipswich and Springfield lines. Residents enjoy a green, river-edge lifestyle without losing touch with the rest of Brisbane.
